How to change your Firefox UserAgent String using about:config
The steps detailed here will allow you to change the UserAgent string of your Firefox web browser to masquerade as any other browser or bot on the net. The changes made using the following steps will be reset to default upon shutting down of your firefox browser.

Entering the Config pageType: about:config in the firefox address field |

Find the useragent stringType: general.useragent.extra.firefox under the Filter bar

Modifying the Preference Stringgeneral.useragent.extra.firefox: Right-click and select Modify Type in your new useragent string. ie. Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) for IE6

Verifying the resultsYou can test if you have successfully changed your Useragent by using the following test.

Reset back to default config
Right-click on the Preference String and select reset
