Changing your Firefox’s useragent string using the User Agent Switcher Plugin

This is the preferred and easiest way of switching your Firefox’s useragent temporarily. Your useragent string will be reset back to the default firefox’s useragent string upon shutting down of your browser

Step 1
Download and install the User Agent Switcher plugin

You can download the latest copy of the useragent switcher from HERE. Just click on the ADD TO FIREFOX to install

Upon installation, you will be required to restart your firefox to start using the plugin.

Step 2
Change useragent string

To change your UserAgent string, click on Tools >> User Agent Switcher and select the useragent to masquerade as.

Step 3
Success !

Your firefox useragent string should now be reflecting that of your choosen browser.

Adding more useragents to User Agent Switcher

Step 1
Getting additional Useragent String

I have compiled a list of useragents that you can import into your User Agent Switcher. This can be downloaded from the link below

Step 2
Importing list to User Agent Switcher

Select Tools >> User Agent Switcher >> Options >> Options

followed by the following Steps:
   STEP 1: Select User Agent
   STEP 2: Tick “Overwrite existing…”
   STEP 3:Click on the IMPORT and select the useragent file to import.

This was tested under

Operating System: Windows XP SP2
Browser: Firefox 2.0
